After three years away from TV, are Ted Lasso fans ready to believe again?
Despite the heat and humidity of a Los Angeles summer day, cast and fans alike couldn’t contain their joy over Ted’s return to AFC Richmond. Even Apple CEO Tim Cook stopped by to soak up some of the happiness.
Part red-carpet premiere and part family reunion, the cast clearly reveled in returning to the world of AFC Richmond—and to each other. They stopped for selfies and autographs with enthusiastic fans even as publicists urged them toward the carpet.
While it appeared that season 3 would be the series finale for Apple TV’s beloved show, the creators found a clever way to create a new beginning by bringing Coach Lasso back for a fourth season and having him coach the Lady Greyhounds, a second-division women’s team.
Following the red carpet, guests were treated to a screening of the new season’s first two episodes, and while we can’t give away any spoilers, we can confirm that everything fans missed about the show, and many of your favorite characters, are back, and viewers will not be disappointed by Lasso’s return to the pitch.
As every good premiere night should, the evening concluded with an afterparty held on the Academy's rooftop deck, where guests enjoyed a cross-cultural meal of fish and chips and Kansas City brisket, and played darts in an English pub as they gazed out at the city lights of Hollywood.

Hannah Waddingham beat the muggy heat by walking the carpet in a stunning short, strapless gold dress and dark shades.
Waddingham, who portrays Richmond owner Rebecca Welton, made the premiere a date night, attending with her boyfriend, surgeon Nick Beresford-Cleary.
Jason Sudeikis

Kansas City’s friendliest football coach kept it cool in blue, topping off his look with a pair of chic shades. Sudeikis did more than just walk the carpet; he took the time to pose for selfies and sign autographs for the dozens of fans lucky enough to cheer him on from the top of the carpet.
Sudeikis also made the night a family affair, posing for pics with his two children, Otis, 12, and Daisy, 9.
Juno Temple

AFC Richmond’s favorite PR director brought some whimsy to the red carpet in an aquamarine mermaid dress complete with a soccer ball purse. Star Tracker can confirm that she’s a sweetheart both on screen and off as she stopped to take selfies with fans before taking her turn on the carpet.
Temple was joined by her long-time boyfriend Michal Szymanski.
Brendan Hunt

Coach Beard understood the assignment! Hunt showed his true colors, wearing a suit in full AFC Richmond home colors and posing with his gorgeous wife Shannon Nelson. Fun fact: Jason Sudeikis served as the officiant at their wedding.
Coach Lasso never stops bringing people together.

In case you weren’t sure if the return of Ted Lasso was a big deal, just know that Apple CEO Tim Cook took time out of his busy schedule to enjoy the premiere.
While his executive style didn’t quite match the fashionable celebs on the carpet, we will give him credit for rocking some clean white sneaks.
Ted Lasso season four premieres August 5 on Apple TV, with new episodes arriving weekly.
